Los Angeles, CA

As a follow up to “4U,” the recently released single featuring Bad Bunny and Tory Lanez, Mexican DJ and producer Boombox Cartel has dropped a new collaboration with rapper MadeinTYO titled “NEW WIP.” The electrifying banger is composed of a riveting, hard-hitting beat complimented by an enthusiastic performance from the “Uber Everywhere” rapper.

On “NEW WIP,” Boombox Cartel expands his eclectic catalog by weaving the genres of electronic dance music, dubstep, and Hip Hop.

The single was released under Diplo’s label Mad Decent. Last year, Cartel released “ID,” a collaboration with Flosstradamus, with Mad Decent.

In regards to the collaboration, Cartel told HipHopDX, “Our goal was just to make a rowdy track, something a group of friends could go crazy to” and that working with MadeinTYO was “super easy and chill.” He said “ [I] had the beat for a while that I thought would fit Tokyo’s style really well, and I really wanted to do an EDM bop with Tokyo.”

According to him, the Atlanta rapper, who released his debut album Sincerely, Tokyo last year, recorded the song in half an hour.

With “Nothing to Hide,” “4U,” “NEW WIP,” a performance at Beyond Wonderland, his own tour, and a potential collaboration with GOOD Music signee Desiigner, Boombox Cartel is shaping up to be one of the industry’s most promising producers.
