Kelly Rowland is set to host the 12th annual Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards. The celebration will take place February 21 in Beverly Hills, Oscar week.

Amandla Stenberg, Jennifer Lewis, KiKi Layne, and Regina Hall will all be celebrated for their contributions and activism at the luncheon.

“I’m so honored to host this year’s Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards and shine a light on four exceptional women for their art and social activism,” Rowland said in a statement. “With this phenomenal Oscar-week celebration, Essence creates a special place that elevates the beauty, power and magic of Black women.”

News of Ms. Kelly hosting the Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards comes on the heels of her starring role in BET series American Soul. In the series, Rowland takes on the role of legendary soul singer Gladys Knight as part of the untold story of Soul Train its creator Don Cornelius.
