HipHopDX Premiere

Anyone who’s been to a Talib Kweli live show is likely familiar with the explosive opening sets from NIKO IS. The Brazilian-born MC — who was raised in Orlando — lights up the stage with his captivating performances.

Now, NIKO has returned with a new video for the Thanks Joey-produced “Coca,” which is an ode to infamous journalist/author Hunter S. Thompson.

“Music is like dope,” NIKO tells HipHopDX. “Music makes people feel invincible. We wanted to capture that in audio form. Fear and loathing in tropicalia. NARCY filmed the video and executed our vision perfectly. Gonzo. Puro. RIP HUNTER S THOMPSON!”

Taken from NIKO’s project UNIKO, the track has his signature exotic feel and spotlights his unique rhyming prowess. The album features Tego Calderon, Curren$y, Kweli and Haikaiss, among others.
