After signing a deal with Dr. Dre‘s Aftermath Records, Joell Ortiz is now set to drop his album,
The Brick (Bodega Chronicles), on the always open and always independent Koch Records.
The record is being used as a “preview” for Ortiz’s more street-oriented material, while his Aftermath album will be released late in 2007.
Ortiz previously won the graces of TheSource magazines’
“Unsigned Hype” and was selected as a “Chairman’s Choice” as well, the
Brooklyn, NY native earned much of his acclaim from his catalogue of

Whoo Kid and Kay Slay.
The LP will feature a slew of guest appearances from Immortal Technique, M.O.P., Ras Kass, Big Noyd, Grafh and Stimuli. The disc will alsofeature production from The Alchemist, Showbiz, Fame
