After Kanye West said slavery sounded like “a choice” during TMZ Live earlier this week, the backlash was swift. While countless people condemned ‘Ye for his comments, many of his peers stood behind him, including his “Gold Digger” collaborator Jamie Foxx. 

On Wednesday night (May 2), Foxx was evidently behind the decks at a West Hollywood bar called Employees Only. In a video obtained by TMZ, the 50-year-0ld berated the outlet for allowing the interview to even take place.

“TMZ know they shouldn’t be doing that shit, man,” he said. “A good friend of ours — they put that boy on display. Man, don’t believe that shit. My man going through something, man.”

Foxx continued, “I ain’t going to be like everybody jumping on the bandwagon saying I hate my dude. I’m not gonna do that shit. I know my man needs some help and if you need me call me.”

Last September, the Academy Award-winning actor also said he thought Donald Trump’s presidency would only help West get in the White House. ‘Ye announced he was thinking about running in 2020 during the 2015 MTV VMAs.
