Donald Trump is pleased to have Kanye West in his corner. After Yeezy reaffirmed his support for the 45th President of the United States on Wednesday (April 25), Trump thanked him on Twitter.
“Thank you Kanye, very cool!” the commander-in-chief tweeted.
The thank you message retweeted a post from West’s latest Twitter spree in which the capricious artist stated his support for Trump amid widespread criticism.
“You don’t have to agree with trump but the mob can’t make me not love him,” West wrote. “We are both dragon energy. He is my brother. I love everyone. I don’t agree with everything anyone does. That’s what makes us individuals. And we have the right to independent thought.”

West is one of the few rappers to speak positively about Trump since the polarizing businessman got into politics, and he’s easily the most prominent voice to do so.
Hip Hop has largely been antagonistic toward Trump, whichs public spats with JAY-Z and Snoop Dogg as well as Eminem’s internet-breaking freestyle.
West seems to be enjoying his controversial support, posting pictures of a signed “Make America Great Again” hat and the Trump tweet.
