DOOM & Czarface Drop “Czarface Meets MetalFace” LP

Czarface has unearthed Czarface Meets MetalFace, the trio’s collaborative album with DOOM. Together, Inspectah Deck, 7L, Esoteric and the enigmatic MetalFace deliver 16 tracks that combine their signature comic book aesthetic with classic boom-bap rap.

Czarface Meets MetalFace was anchored by the first two singles, “Bomb Thrown” and “Nautical Depth,” and serves as Czarface’s follow-up to 2017’s First Weapon Drawn. Eso is relieved to finally get the project to the masses.

“My favorite part is getting it out to the people,” he tells HipHopDX. “I don’t revisit these albums when they’re done that often because I’m too harsh of a critic but I love holding the vinyl. If this stuff was digital only, just putting stuff on SoundCloud with nothing physical to it, I wouldn’t even be making music.”

The enigmatic DOOM has a history of collaborating with like-minded MCs and producers. After teaming up with Westside Gunn as WestsideDOOM last October, he then signed up to co-produce Bishop Nehru’s forthcoming album Elevators: Act I & II.

Now, DOOM has announced a collaborative project with Czarface — Wu-Tang Clan’s Inspectah Deck, 7L and Esoteric — titled Czarface Meets Metal Face!

The announcement comes with the album’s inaugural single, “Nautical Depth,” an explosive introduction to the foursome’s collective power.

Czarface Meets Metal Face! is expected to arrive on March 30, and features Open Mike Eagle and Jedi Mind Tricks’ Vinnie Paz.

Czarface’s most recent album, First Weapon Drawn, was released last year.

In addition to upcoming endeavors with Nehru and Czarface, DOOM and Cypress Hill’s DJ Muggs sparked rumors of a collaboration in December, when Muggs shared an Instagram photo featuring a black-and-white drawing of what appears to be the duo, although only a fraction of their bodies is shown. The only clue is DOOM’s signature mask, which is partially visible.

    1. Man, you stay on your grind and the world responds. Eso spend 2000-2010 ish grinding away on the independnat scene and now is his steady making bangers with the Wu-Tang and now DOOM……that’s impressive.

    2. Doom has lost his fucking mind. This is the year of doom. I must cop czarface and metalface and dj. Muggs and doom. 2018 look likes another dope year for REAL hip hop music. I’m going to be broke at the end of this year but my ears and soul will be very happy. Damn, u god’s new album venom comes out march 30. Onyx’s new joint is out on feb. 16. Of course, wu tang has more albums coming soon.

    3. Metalface DOOM droppin heavy this year, I got a feeling he’s about to go on another marathon run of album releases same way he did from ’99-’05. Fingers crossed for DOOMSTARKS and a Madvillain sequel.

    4. Instant copy for me , Really like Czarface they put in that work keep it going!

SOme Chemical mastery beat making with Doom in there !

    5. Mannnnn… We get this before the MF Doom Ghostface project?!?!? is the material just outdated that well never seem to see the light of day with that album??? but we get a czarface doom album?? I mean I’m all for it Deck is the unsung hero of the WU but how do we get this project let alone any doom project at this point before doom and starks?? Respect regardless I’ma cop this one.

          1. I agree with you but i read in an article this year that stated ghostface is releasing three albums in 2018. The other two albums are supreme clientale 2 and center of attention. I also read doomstark was held back by doom. I guess doom wants to release many albums at once like he did in the past.

    6. Best news I’ve heard in a minute. All of Czarface’s albums are on point and DOOM has been on his grind heavy lately. Instant cop for sure!
