Paul Wall Drops “Bounce Backs Over Setbacks” LP

Paul Wall is back following a tumultuous year for his hometown of Houston, which was devastated by Hurricane Harvey. The city did have a bright spot amid the tragedy when the Houston Astros won the World Series for the first time in franchise history, so Wall came up with a fitting motto for H-Town residents and used it for his latest album’s title — Bounce Backs Over Setbacks.

The 15-track album is the Houston rap staple’s first solo LP since 2016’s Houston Oiler. Last year, he did release a collaborative project with C Stone titled Diamond Boyz. Wall’s latest work features guest appearances by Z-Ro, Lil Keke, Stunna Bam and Cal Wayne, among others.

    1. So this down syndrome lookin shithead who glorifies and promotes drinking lean, which is destroying our youth has dropped a new lp?? I’ll pass you junkie f.aggot

      1. Word, that’s why I listen to drug dealer and shoot’em up rap, because that doesn’t destroy our youth!

        1. I don’t listen to any drug, violent raps like you guys. I listen to Black Thought, his raps don’t destroy the youth. Oh wait, he’s too smart for the youth. They’ll have brain overloads and malfunction from his intelligent raps. I guess no rap is good for the youth then 🙁

      2. Shut up. This dude been dope for years. He is at the heart of hip hop and deserves the respect he gets

    2. I’ve kept up with Paul Wall’s releases, even though nothing he’s released has moved me since 2010s Heart of a Champion, which was barely on the radar but still had some dope instrumentals and collabs on it. He’s done 5 albums since then, none of which I liked, but since I was such a big fan of the Houston movement back in 2005 (Get Ya Mind Correct and Chick Magnet were classics) I always check to see if its good or not, I do the same with Slim Thug and the occasional Lil Flip album (which are terrible). Houston had a great run, but needs to develop a new sound, because the new stuff is kind of a hybrid between the old screwed and chopped shit and modern trap, and I don’t even think it is selling in Houston like it used to. So I’ll check this out like I always do, but I have very low expectations.

    3. Paul wall always dropping that Texas heat if u ain’t from Texas u don’t understand he z legend in the Htown

    4. Im a white English dude and I just came here so I could say the word ‘ni99a’ for fun…… NI99A NI99A NI99A NI99A NI99A!!!!!!! It’s such fun

    5. Eh Paul ain’t my favorite of all time exactly but like the poster below said, miles above the new era shit. Plus he two Z-Ro features and some decent beats which doesn’t hurt

    6. I always give Paul Wall a chance just because Peoples Champ was a great album. Usually find 1-2 tracks I dig on each project. Also, ZRo features is gold!

    7. I dig the majority of that Houston shit and I gotta say this album cover and title are fresh as fuck. Probably 1 of the best I’ve seen in years. If I was buying it based on that, like we had to do in the 90s, I would’ve copped it for sure. Gonna check it out.

    8. Paul wall is a fad. His career is over. He rode that wave of popularity from the south a few years ago, but now his time is up.
