Dipset’s “Once Upon A Time” recently revived an old rumor of Dame Dash allegedly slapping disgraced movie executive Harvey Weinstein. On the song, Cam’ron recounted a tale of Dash putting hands on Weinsten during the making of the 2002 film Paid In Full. In a new interview with TMZ, the Hip Hop mogul didn’t admit to anything but made it clear an altercation occurred.
“Somebody definitely got smacked on the set of Paid In Full,” Dash said. “But, you know, I’ve never really liked the way Harvey treated my culture. I didn’t like the way he talked to people and I didn’t like the way he was treating my film.”

Later in the interview, Dash noted that he got sued over the incident. The Roc-A-Fella co-founder explained how it was tough for him to put his film out due to Weinstein, whose Miramax Pictures was the distributor of Paid In Full.

“I got sued over it but I won,” Dash said. “Harvey was someone who was trying not to put out my movie, and I had to really get aggressive with him and make sure he did right by it. And had I not fought for the movie, you would have never seen it.”
Dash also spoke on the myriad of sexual misconduct allegations about Weinstein. The public demise of the powerful executive has inspired many women to speak out about sexual harassment and assault by other male celebrities.
“You know, I’ve owned clubs with him and a lot of the things that have been alleged, everybody knew was going on,” he said. “I just always chose not to work with him. And I always wanted to punish him publicly so people would know he was weak. For some reason, people thought he was strong. I felt he was disrespecting the culture of black people, of good people, of women. And I could’ve made more movies with him, but I decided not to even though it was unpopular. And people from my own culture like Just Blaze and Wood Harris would publicly say that I approached it wrong. But at the end of the day, I’m always gonna stand by my morals.”
