After weeks of taunting, Eminem finally delivered the first single — “Walk On Water” featuring Beyonce — from his forthcoming album, Revival.Produced by Def Jam Recordings mastermind Rick Rubin and co-produced by Em’s frequent collaborator Skylar Grey, the song shows a more mature side of Slim Shady.

It’s a far cry from some of the controversial content found on 2000’s The Marshall Mathers LP or his anger-fueled BET Hip Hop Awards cypher he delivered last month. Here, we get a more introspective Eminem who seems to be exploring a newfound wisdom that only comes with age.

Of course, social media reactions to “Walk On Water” were mixed. Some found the collaboration between Queen Bey and Em to be a welcome surprise, while others wanted to pretend like the song never happened.
