The Game has officially hit the studio to work on what he says may be his final solo album — Westside Story. The Los Angeles rap figure made the announcement in an Instagram post on Sunday (June 4), one that showed off his lavish (yet empty) recording studio. He also casually mentioned he had “@DrDre beats” on deck.

A rep for The Game confirmed to HipHopDX it was Dr. Dre production he was referring to and not Dre’s headphones Beats.

He also said he’ll be taking part in a closed studio session and promised an array of emotions on the project, including pain, love, sacrifice and dedication.

“Day 1: WESTSIDE STORY….. #ClosedSession it’s just me & these @DrDre beats… I can promise you pain, love, sacrifice & dedication to my craft…. anything else you can get from these Cracker Jack niggas……. my last album…. let’s fuckin get it !!!!! #NewStudio #NewEnergy #RIPVeto #ThisOnesForYou,” The Game wrote.

During a concert in Moscow, Russia late last year, The Game revealed to fans that his next album would put a cap on his discography.

Considering Westside Story could serve as The Game’s ticket into rap retirement, he’s likely to go all out for this one. He’s already hinted at a possible collab with Kendrick Lamar in another Instagram post that suggested the two were recently in the studio together.

With Dr. Dre’s production part of the equation, it adds even more star power to the album. One of their last collaborations, The Game’s “Don’t Trip,” featured Dre, Ice Cube and will.i.am, and dropped in 2015 on The Documentary 2 project.
