DMX is finally ready to unveil plans for his next album and he’s happy to have found a new home. After a long wait, some jail time and many album delays, X spoke with reporters on Friday to address these issues.
X was pleased to let people know he’s found a new home with Sony Music.
“It’s an honor to be back at a record label that feels more like a home,” he told reporters.
“I feel like Sony appreciates good music from a talented artist. Once again, I look forward to belonging to someone’s home,” he added.

X also went on to talk about his old home: Def Jam.
“It was really special, it was a blessing because I was invited to a home,” he said of his old relationship with Def Jam. “But they sold the house on me. They left me with people that didn’t give a f— about me. It left a bad taste in my mouth for the industry, period. [But] I’m doing what I’m here to do — good music.”
Many wondered how he felt towards the new president at Def Jam:fellow emcee and one-time tour mate Jay-Z.
“I gotta respect Jay-Z because he did the only real thing he could in that position,” he said of Jigga.

“He said, ‘Yo listen, I don’t want to [hold you back]. Just take the album and we’ll let you go,’ “ he continued. “I respect that move.”
He went on to explain that there were no ill feelings between the two emcees.
“Because of our history, I felt it wasn’t gonna work,” he said. “We have a really good relationship. Even though we don’t see each other that often, when we do see each other, I’d be genuinely happy to see him. I felt it would put a strain on our relationship, having your man in charge of your sh–.”
With all of that behind him, X now hopes to move on with plans to release his album Here We Go Again. The album was originally made at his old label, but after delays, X went back to the lab.
