Hugh Augustine doesn’t have the typical upbringing of a rapper as his childhood involved the culture in a different way.
The Los Angeles rapper recently sat down with HipHopDX Senior Features Writer Ural Garrett and explained how his father being a tour manager on the “Up In Smoke Tour” introduced him to Hip Hop and made him eventually want to be a rapper.
“That was the first Hip Hop concert I went to as a kid and that’s kind of what opened my eyes to how big rap really is and how global it can be and how it can translate to so many people,” he said via a segment of today’s (November 25) DX Daily. “When I saw that, I was so motivated to get into the game myself because I felt like I can do it too.”
Hugh Augustine also talked about his most recent project, Massimo Ciabatta.

“Massimo Ciabatta is like a culmination of my lifestyle over the past couple of years and I just wanted to catch my audience up with what I’ve been doing behind the scenes,” he said. “[I’m] kind of just letting everybody know the trials and tribulations, the struggle and the triumphs [I’ve been going through].”
