Bingx caught the attention of HipHopDX with his song “In My Prayers,” and his mixtape W.O.R.D.S. so we decided to have him stop by.

Recently sitting down with DX Features Editor Andre Grant, the Seattle native talked about his hometown’s Hip Hop scene and wants more to pay attention to it.

“Seattle, there’s a lot of different types of artists. There’s a plethora of different artists and cultures. The artists there, there’s so many different genres,” he said via a segment of today’s (November 24) DX Daily. “There’s not a spotlight on Seattle yet.”

Bingx also says Tech N9ne was the first rapper he ever heard actually rap and attributes a lot of his musical make-up to him.

“It was a dying thing there for a while. It’s starting to come back. I wasn’t raised on rap music. I didn’t rap growing up. When I was 16 I heard my first song. I heard Eminem’s ‘Hi kids, do you like violence?’ But not Hip Hop and the first Hip Hop song I ever heard was ‘Breathe’ by Tech N9ne. I have [Tourette syndrome], I have OCD and stuff and when I heard his syllables and stuff and how masterful he was with everything he was doing, Tech N9ne is crazy with that.”
