Nicki Minaj’s wax figure will remain at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas museum, Billboard reports.

Stories circulated yesterday (September 9) that the statue would be taken down.

However, a representative from the museum says that the exhibit is only redesigning the set and adding security, as previously announced.

Weeks after the Nicki Minaj wax figure at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas made its debut, the wax museum is already calling for added monitoring at the attraction.

The added monitoring comes after fans of the Queens, New York rapper posted inappropriate pictures with the wax figure, which was inspired by a still image from Minaj’s “Anaconda” music video. In some pictures, fans are seen pretending to kiss the figure, while other pictures show fans in sexual positions.

Madame Tussauds Las Vegas issued a statement on Twitter expressing their concern over one photograph in particular. They also promised to add extra monitoring to Minaj’s wax figure, and redesign the set the wax figure is placed on to make it less picture-friendly.

“We have been made aware of the inappropriate photograph that was taken at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas, involving Nicki Minaj’s new wax figure,” the statement read. “Madame Tussauds attractions are interactive, immersive experiences, and our visitors are generally respectful towards the wax figures. It is unfortunate that this visitor decided to behave so inappropriately and we apologise for any offence this has caused. We do have staff monitoring guest behavior in the attraction and do our utmost to ensure our wax figures are treated respectfully…We are taking immediate steps to ensure most staff are present in this area and that the set around this particular figure is redesigned so that a picture like this cannot be taken again.”

Prior to the release of Madame Tussauds statement, singer/rapper Azealia Banks criticized the museum for creating a wax figure with Minaj “bent over on all fours.”

“Wow, they finally give nicki minaj a wax figure and it’s a statue of her bent over on all fours…… White people yo….,” Azealia Banks tweeted last week.
