Barry Reese pka Cassidy will stand trial for the April 15, 2005 murder of Desmond Hawkins and the wounding of Bobby Hoyle. The victims were said to have been in an altercation with the rap star earlier that day near his Philadelphia home.
According to court documents, both Hawkins and Hoyle had argued with Cassidy over an unknown subject and had returned to apologize when their car was riddled with gunfire…though one of the victims (Hoyle) later recanted seeing Cassidy actually fire a shot the Philadelphia judge believed that their was enough evidence to charge Reese with 3rd Degree felony murder and assault with a dealy weapon…The Philadelphia Prosecutors office will be appealing the judges ruling.
