Two time Grammy Award winning producer Focus… released aNALOG iN a dIGITAL wORLD, an instrumental project which was made available earlier this month (June 1). Hosted by Therapy, the project features 11 tracks and is hosted on Bandcamp. In a statement released in conjunction with the project, the Los Angeles resident explains why he decided to take an analog approach with this release.
“This is aNALOG iN a dIGITAL wORLD,” Focus… states before continuing, “an instrumental CD I put together hosted by my 3k follower, Therapy, to help rebuild my brand and regain awareness with regards to my sound. With this new generation,many are moving back towards the analog approach and the musical aspect of creating. I grew up creating music on 4 tracks (cassettes), 2 inch reels, ADATS, DA-88’s, etc. I love the warmth and feel of analog but, as we all know, we have been aggressively ushered into a digital world. I haven’t given up my analog approach, thus the meaning and the title of my project…Pls Enjoy!”
Focus… was an in house producer for Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment. He is also well known for his work with The Game, 50 Cent, Tony Yayo, Beyoncé, Busta Rhymes to name a few.
