Since Dame Dash and Jay Z  parted ways after the sale of Roc-A-Fella Records in the early 2000s, Dash has garnered attention when he’s spoken about his former business partner.

During an interview posted Wednesday (June 3), Dash reflected on Hov’s stage presence in a video-conference with Dr. Boyce Watkins.

When Watkins (a.k.a. the People’s Scholar) asks Dame why he didn’t rap but would often go onstage with Jay Z, he replies, “I didn’t want to rap. I though that shit was corny.”

“You do anything for your business,” Dash says. “Jay had no presence on that stage, period. He was terrible on stage, no personality. The Jay now has hit records. Before he had hit records, you have to have a personality on that stage.”

Dash says that Hov was an “introverted person” and didn’t talk very much.

“He’d be on the stage doing nothing,” Dash adds.
