David Faustino says during an exclusive interview with HipHopDX that premiered in the DX Daily yesterday (October 7) that he introduced Ice Cube to Arsenio Hall backstage back in the day.

Faustino, who portrayed Bud Bundy on Married With Children, says that Ice Cube would come to the show’s set and later took him to Arsenio Hall’s show, which filmed on the same lot.

“I had been on the show a few times so I actually took Cube with me,” Faustino says. “The two of us went to see Arsenio and we sat — I don’t remember who the guest was that day — but the two of us, we sat there and at the end I said, ‘Hey, let’s go. Let’s try and get in there. So I came back and I introduced Cube to Arsenio. And Arsenio had no idea who he was and he kind of gave him the [cold shoulder]. It was a weird moment. I felt uncomfortable. He tried to show him the record, which at that time was a fuckin’ cassette and he gave him the cassette and it was just awkward. You could tell there was not a lot of love there.”

In 1990, Ice Cube mentioned Hall on his “The Nigga Ya Love To Hate” song, which was included on his AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted album. “They asked me did I like Arsenio?, about as much as the bicentennial.”
