During a performance today (September 15) in Brisbane, Australia, Kanye West said that comments he made Friday (September 12) in Sydney, Australia about needing people to stand up at his concert, unless they “got a handicap pass and you get special parking and shit,” are not worthy of the amount of attention they received. He described them as “bullshit blown out of proportion,” according to Huffington Post.
The Chicago rapper-producer also said he should not be be the object of criticism.
“I’m a married, Christian man with a family,” he said. “…Pick another target.”
During his Brisbane performance, West again addressed his handicapped fans.

“Everybody who is not in a wheelchair or handicapped will stand up,” he said. “If you can not prove to me that you are in a wheelchair you need to be standing, if you can it is okay to sit down.”
