Towards the end of her recent interview with Complex, Top Dawg Entertainment singer SZA was asked if she could offer an update on Kendrick Lamar’s upcoming album. SZA joked about being unable to speak on the project before describing the album as “amazing,” “beautiful,” and “vivid as fuck.”
She also revealed that K-Dot’s storytelling on the currently untitled album is “on a grander scale” compared to past projects from the Compton, California rapper.
“It sounds amazing,” SZA said. “That’s all I’m gonna say. It really is amazing. It’s incredible. It’s next level. It’s next level for sure. He was storytelling before, but now it’s like on a grander scale. It’s vivid as fuck. It’s beautiful. It’s so dope.”

With her own solo album, titled A, set for release in the near future, SZA also spoke in detail on her project, which will serve as a follow-up to Z.
“It’s more similar I wanna say to S when it comes to like some of the trap influences,” she said. “But then I’m bringing in—I’m working with like James Fauntleroy and Hit-Boy and a bunch of people that don’t necessarily belong together. And then I’m working with Felix Snow again. And he did most of S. And the lyrics are completely different. They’re not as shielded. They’re very aggressive and upfront about everything that I’m going through right now. And it’s a lot.”
Another artist SZA spoke on during her interview with Complex was fellow singer and daughter of Jada Pinkett-Smith and Will Smith, Willow Smith. She called the 13-year-old, who she referred to as a little sister, a “genius.”

“I love her,” SZA said. “I think she’s a genius. She’s literally one of my favorite people. She’s like a little sister to me. The things that she’s cultivating at that age is very—It’s beautiful. She’s a genius.”
