The-Dream Booked, Held For Felony Assault Of Lydia Nam; Singer-Songwriter Proclaims Innocence

The-Dream is being held in New York City on two felony and three misdemeanor charges of assault, reckless endangerment and child endangerment, according to TMZ.

The site says the singer-songwriter is in custody due to allegations made by Lydia Nam, the mother of one of his children. She says that The-Dream punched, kicked and strangled her while she was pregnant with their son.

The-Dream turned himself into police today (May 7).

“Dream voluntarily surrendered to the Midtown North Precinct this morning in order to responsibly address the false allegations filed against him by Lydia Nam,” a The-Dream rep said to TMZ. “He is innocent of the charges filed against him today.”

The alleged assault took place in April 2013.

The TMZ story says that Nam did not report the alleged incident to police for seven months.

Complex also posted a report on the story.
