The most recent edition of Time Magazine has named The Roots as the U.S.’s top hip-hop band.
The magazine ran a special feature on “America’s Best Artists and Entertainers,” and named the Philly crew as America’s Best Rappers. While this is a bit off- they’re not all rappers first of all- it is flattering to The Roots nonetheless. Public Enemy’s Chuck D, who praised the fact that they play their own instruments, did the write-up.
Miami’s DJ Craze was named as America’s Best DJ. The three-time DMC champ has been blowing up of late and was in Toronto not too long ago.
