In an effort to help get more young people registered to vote, ROC-A-Fella Records has joined the forces with the Hip-Hop Summit Action Network and Rock The Vote in a new voter campaign. Next month Rocawear Clothing will release a new hat with the three company’s logos on it with the slogan “ROC THE VOTE ‘04” on the front. Money from the sale of the hats will be split between ROCK THE VOTE and the HSAN to help further both companies’ goals.
“As I’ve gotten more involved in voter registration through the Hip-Hop Summit Action Network and our own Roc Weekends and events, I’ve seen how powerful the message of social and political activism has been to the kids we’ve come in contact with in each city,” commented Damon Dash. “We always do our best at Roc to put back into the community and to support causes we feel strongly about and there’s nothing more important than empowering our kids to make things better. I feel good that Rocawear is bringing everyone together and making this statement”. The cap will be sold on www.rocawear.com and www.hsan.org.
