Last night, in one of the shortest Academy Awards in history Gladiator wins for Best Picture and a ton of others. Russell Crowe also took home the award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Roman Gladiator Maximus .

Steven Soderbergh captured the best director Sunday for the movie “Traffic.”

He said after, “Suddenly going to work tomorrow doesn’t seem like such a good idea”.

Other winners included Julia Roberts for Best Actress for “Erin Brockovich”. “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragron”, which was nominated for ten awards took him the Best Foreign film, although it deserved much more. Benicio Del Torro won Best Supporting actor for his work in “Traffic”.

Note that this will be the last year the award show takes place in the historic Shrine Auditorium.
