This year it seems as if hip-hop artists are planning to make a stand for the next presidential election and Jadakiss is no exception. With his new single “Why” receiving so much controversy over such lyrics as “Why did Bush knock down the Towers”, Jadakiss is more than open to explain why he felt motivated to talk about Bush in his song.

“I just felt Bush had something to do with that”, Jadakiss told MTV. “That’s why I put it in there like that. A lot of my people felt that he had something to do with it. I was thinking, ‘What’s the one thing that everyone has in common? Questions. Everyone asks why, so I decided to write a song asking questions that everyone wants answers to”. The lyrics have prompted some radio stations to play the edited version of the song hoping to avoid any controversy. Certain stations say they were only given the edited version with that line removed but others say they will not edit the song but play it as it was recorded. “No one edited “Get Low” by Lil Jon and the Eastside Boyz”, Michael Saunders of WWPR said.

“They’re censoring me all over the place, and that’ good”, Jadakiss continued. “That means it’s reaching out to everybody. I wanted to make a song that could appeal to a broader audience- and not only the hood. When I made the song I wrote it to be political, controversial, and to stir something up”. Jadakiss is definitely grabbing attention with “Kiss of Death”.
