Even though Jay-Z has put his mic down, that hasn’t stopped Just Blaze from being one of the busiest producers around. “As much as I try to lay low sometimes and rejuvenate, I haven’t really gone anywhere,” Blaze said recently. “I’m still working as much as ever”, Just Blaze told MTV. Logging studio time with Fabolous, Nick Cannon and Joe Budden, Just Blaze has been feeling the heat as he gets ready for the summer. But amidst all his success, one of the beats Just Blaze produced was used twice. Once by Nick Cannon the other by Peedi Crakk of Roc-A-Fella.

Upset, Peedi Crakk bad-mouth Just Blaze in radio and print interviews. “There’s no tension on my side at all,” Blaze explained. “I have nothing but love for the artists over there. I gave Peedi a beat a year and a half ago. He recorded the song with rapper N.O.R.E. but nobody from the Roc told me that the song existed. Meanwhile, I sold the beat to Nick Cannon.” The issue has since been squashed and Just Blaze is headed back into the studio with several members of the Roc. “As a producer, the last thing you want to do is sabotage a relationship with an artist,” he said. “I’m actually supposed to work with [Roc’s] Freeway soon and I’m working with Memphis Bleek on his new album”. His handiwork can also been seen on Shyne’s new album due in stores August 10th.

Before Shyne’s incarceration they worked on two tracks that will appear on the album. “I may add a few new twists to them, but for the most part they liked the songs the way they were.” Plans for the future will see him opening his own label and signing the MC Saigon. “He was open to the idea of working with me,” Blaze continued. “He wants someone to produce him, someone to make him greater than he already is. I’ve gotten past the stage of making hot beats — I’m trying to make real records now.”
