After years of jet setting from country to country to perform with some of the hottest acts in hip-hop ?uestlove and DJ King Britt are doing the one thing they never got a chance to do. Get a driver’s license. Taking the challenge from Scion the two allowed themselves to be filmed for a docu-drama as they try to obtain their driver’s licenses. In the film titled “On the D.L” produced Andrew Gura and musically scored by DJ Nobody, the question is posed to the two aspiring drivers “Why now”?. “I never really had a reason to drive,” King Britt says. “I live right by the subway”. Later it is revealed he failed his first attempt and why it’s so important for him to get one now.
Scion views their relationship with artists as a way to deliver their message. “Many of our projects provide a national platform for emerging artists. That attribute is a prerequisite for most of our projects,” Brian Bolain, Scion National Sales Promotions Manager said. The film makes it debut online at Scion.com/onthedl, with outtakes from the film available an interviews with both Britt and ?uestlove.
