Although many have tried to duplicate the influence of BET, last night they proved why they are truly the best at showing Black Star Power. With everyone from OutKast (both of them), Lil Jon and the Eastside Boyz, Jermaine Dupri & Janet Jackson, Elephant Man and Jay-Z taking the stage at some point, the fourth annual BET Awards did more than take over Hollywood’s Kodak Theatre. Performances were done by Outkast (“Roses”), Jay-Z (“99 Problems”), Usher , Lil Jon and Ludacris(“Yeah”) and a special surprise tribute to 25 years of hip-hop with such legendary artists like Doug E. Fresh, Slick Rick, Public Enemy and many more. Taking home an award last night were Outkast with two wins, Jay-Z and Kanye West. The show will be rebroadcast on July 13th.
