Hip-Hop fans aren’t the only one happy to see Ma$e back in the game. Making the first official announcement that Ma$e is coming back to hip-hop, P. Diddy was more than happy to welcome back the Harlem rapper. “It’s good to have one of our franchise players come on back and take us to the championship,” P. Diddy told MTV. “You know I’m excited. I’m looking forward to the day we step onstage together and have our little reunion. I’m just real happy about it.”

With rumors first running wild that Ma$e would be signing to Nelly’s Fo Reel Entertainment, P. Diddy says none of those rumors ever were true. “I got a call from Nelly, and Nelly told me he wanted clearance on Ma$e, and I was like, ‘To use some old vocals? And he said, ‘No.’ He was playing basketball with Ma$e and Ma$e jumped in the studio and they did a song together. I heard the song, and then Ma$e called and said it was official, he wanted to come back. I said, ‘I only want you to come back if you’re ready to come back.”

Always standing by his artists, Diddy is more than supportive of Ma$e’s decision to focus on a more positive turn in his music. “He said he thought it would be something positive,” Diddy said, “reach out to millions of kids with a message: Have fun and listen to hip-hop and still have God in your life, without being overbearing, without being preachy on them. I told him I loved the idea”. Ma$e’s album is scheduled to be released later this summer.
