After a decade of putting out hit music, not many rappers can say their still at the top of their game. LL Cool J continues to redefine his own career in music as he prepares to release his eleventh studio album in August. Having resigned with Def Jam after his ten album contract ran out last year with them, LL has no plans to slow down in his music or acting career. His first single “Headsprung” produced by Timbaland has reached the number three spot on the Billboard’s Bubbling under R&B/Hip H Hop Singles & Tracks charts. “The Definition will be in stores on August 3rd. Movies are still a major part of his career as he stars in the upcoming movies “Mindhunters”, “Slow Burn” and “Edison” . LL Cool J is currently on a promotional tour and can be seen this weekend in Baltimore at the African American Heritage Festival
Making the switch to a new home, Snoop Dogg has signed a solo deal with the Neptune’s Star Trak label, bringing with him his own Doggystyle imprint. The new deal with Star Trak, who also moved from their previous home at Arista to powerhouse label Interscope Records (home of Shady Records, Aftermath and G-Unit), will reconnect Snoop with the producers that gave him one of the biggest hits of his career with the song “Beautiful”.
