Edited on MTV, Eminem will be the next artists to feel the hand of censorship. During a D-12 performance at the 2004 MTV Movie Awards Eminem dressed in jeans and a long red wig mimicking Axl Rose (from Guns N’Roses). During the set Eminem grouped and flashed a codpiece in front of the camera and then pulled down his pants at the end of the performance flashing his behind. MTV said that would not be shown when the show is broadcast.
Looking to stretch his conglomerate business hand beyond music, clothes, magazines and directing, Damon Dash has now become the owner of Pro Keds sneaker. A sneaker that has been around for years, the deal was said to have been done months ago. Pro Keds released Beanie Siegel’s State Property Shoe Line in February, matching colors of the shoe with the clothing.
In other news TVT Records Pitbull’s debut album “M.I.A.M.I”( Money is a Major Issue) will be released on August 3rd. In today’s New York Post Pitbull is quoted as saying “I have a real entrepreneurial mentality. My own label, a clothing line… I’m not someone who’s all about jewelry, big cars, big rims, sh-t like that. I want to open doors for other people, the way Fat Joe, Big Pun and guys like that opened the door for me.” With his current single “Culo” getting airplay on radio from DC to California, Pitbull is a sure bet to succeed.
