After spending half the year on lock down, G-Unit’s Tony Yayo is finally free. On Monday afternoon Tony Yayo was released from a New York State federal prison where he served five and a half months for possession of a forged passport. One day after being released from and upstate New York prison for bail jumping and weapons charges, Yayo’s parole officer found the passport in his possession. Incarcerated during 2003, his crew G-Unit not only moved in but took over hip-hop.

As 50 Cent’s album “Get Rich or Die Tryin” and G-Unit’s “Beg for Mercy” climb high on the charts, Yayo’s name remained in the forefront as one of the group’s original members(you can catch Yayo flip a verse on the song “Groupie Luv” from the “Beg for Mercy” album). Since his release Tony Yayo hopes to get in the studio to work on an album to release in September.
