On Thursday, July 12th, Chris Lighty and Violator will hold an exclusive listening session for Violator The Album: V2.O at the Hudson Hotel’s Penthouse West Terrace in New York City. The event will take place from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

As HipHopDx.com last reported, the LP features new music from Mobb Deep, Busta Rhymes, Capone-N-Noreaga and LL Cool J, among others. The listening session comes just days after Jay-Z publicly humiliated Mobb Deep rapper Prodigy at last Thursday’s (June 28th) annual “Summer Jam” concert, sponsored by New York-based hip-hop station Hot 97 (WQHT-FM).

The two rappers have been embroiled in a war of words ever since Prodigy accused Jay-Z of taking a spectator’s stance during the so-called East Coast / West Coast rap war, but Jigga took the verbal beef one step further during his performance at Long Island, New York’s sold-out Nassau Coliseum. After rapping “You’s a ballerina / I seen ya,” Jay-Z showed several photos on huge TV monitors of a young Prodigy taking ballet lessons. In the pictures, Prodigy is shown sporting leotards and a sparkling jacket and striking several ballet poses.

It is unclear how Jigga gained access to the footage since it is obviously from Prodigy’s early years. The Mobb Deep MC has yet to respond to the questionable footage. Before embarrassing Prodigy, Jay-Z stunned the capacity crowd by introducing the self-proclaimed King of Pop, Michael Jackson. While he did not perform, Jackson told the crowd, “I love you all,” before exiting the stage and clearing the way for Jigga to perform his new single, “H to the Izzo,” which samples the Jackson 5’s “I Want You Back.”
