The loss of another rising artists has hit the hip-hop community again. Former No Limit Records artist Souljia Slim also known as James Tapp was shot and killed last week on the front lawn of the two-story duplex in New Orleans he purchased for his mother.
The twenty five year old rapper was shot at least three times in the face and once in the chest according to the associated press. Witnesses say a man wearing dark clothing was seen near the scene of the crime. Though police have no suspects in the killing, his stepfather said a lot of people envied the growing success of Souljia Slim career. Slim had previously been convicted of armed robbery and a parole violation but he began straightening out his career when he created his own Cut Throat Committee label where he released his third album
