Although he is making a huge appearance on the charts with his Flipmode Squad hit “What You Want” featuring Mariah Carey, Busta Rhymes is possibly going to be making an appearance in a court of law. Busta Rhymes also known as Trevor Smith Jr. was recently charged with a misdemeanor assault and battery charges after an alleged incident with a fan. Last December Busta made an impromptu performance at Jake’s Twin Saloons in Falls River, Massachusetts to surprise the patrons.
According to the New York Post a female groupie, thirty one year old Celine Giguere allegedly began trying to grab onto Busta and he allegedly pushed her against a table and said “If you ever touch me again, I will f–king kill you.” Robert Kalina, Busta’s attorney says the charges are false and Giguere is just looking to make a quick buck. “This is a bunch of people looking to get a million bucks from a famous person”, he says. Busta will not be the only charged with a crime, Giguere is also being charged with misdemeanor assault and battery charges for her part in the confusion. An arraignment date has been set for June 24th for both people.
