Entering the arena of fashion design Rev. Run and Russell Simmons will be parting with Kellwood to introduce a brand new clothing line called Run Athletic activewear. The clothing will consist of jogging suits, T-shirts, sport shorts, fleece activewear, baseball caps and many other items. When asked about partnering with Kellwood Company.
Rev. Run said, “We are pleased to be partnering with Kellwood, a major player in the apparel industry. With their commitment to the urban market, we believe Run Athletics activewear will be a phenomenal success.” Kellwood is a $2.2 billion marketer of apparel and consumer soft goods with other brand named companies such as Sag Harbor, Vintage Blue and Gerber. Robert Skinner, President of Run Athletics said, “Kellwood is excited to partner with the Simmons brothers in this important urban inspired Run Athletics activewear venture. The collection is designed with an excellent fit, offering young men affordable street styles with the quality and look they want”.
Rev. Run also known as Joseph Simmons not only belonged to the legendary rap group Run DMC and has also established Zoe Ministries. Russell Simmons is not only the co-founder of Def Jam Records but also the owner of another successful clothing company, Phat Farm.
