With new television stations popping up just about everyday, MTV2 is planning to expand on its hip-hop shows to catch your eye. The new shows for this station will be a lot more accessible for many people because the will primarily be shown on the weekend.
Starting May 11th, MTV2 will become “Sucker Free Sundays” when it premiere’s an eight hour block of R & B /hip-hop programming with a special guest host for every show. MTV2 already has 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes and Ludacris lined up to host the shows. A show that is slated to appear during the eight hour programming is “Spoke N’Heard” which is what MTV2 labels as “the new wave of hip-hop and soul videos from artists who are pushing the boundaries of the genre.”
Another huge show premiering on May 24th is the “Monster Mix”, which blends several videos together to show a unique style of video. This show was inspired by DJ’s worldwide and begins with a special show titled “The Remix Saved My Life”. Premiering June 22nd MTV2 will also show a new special titled “22 Greatest MCs”.
