Artists are banning together to perform and show their support for the 21 people who died in the nightclub E2 in Chicago, Illinois on February 17th. In a benefit concert called Triumph Over Tragedy, artists such as Twista, Carl Thomas, Felony Davis, Malik Yusef, 3 Pc, Strong and Mike Dunn will be uniting to help raises proceeds for the Seaway Bank’s E2 Relief Fund for the 21.
T.J Crawford, one of the event organizers issued a statement to the media saying, “Unfortunately, we suffered the loss of many of our young brothers and sisters who simply enjoyed music and nightlife. With this event, we are making an effort to celebrate those lives, provide economic assistance and show an unprecedented gesture of unity amongst community-minded businesses in Chicago”. The event will be held on March 26th at the Isaac Hayes Restaurant in Chicago.
Hundreds of people tried to run out of the second floor club when someone allegedly sprayed pepper spray or mace during a fight. A lawyer for the club thinks that someone might have yelled about a possible terrorist attack.
