Summer of 2Pac

With June including new confession testimony in the 1994 New York shooting of Tupac Amaru Shakur, the thug immortal’s profile has risen once more. This week, ‘Pac’s entourage the Outlawz announced their final album for September as several controversial songs surfaced to the web. “Watch Yo Mouth” joins many of ‘Pac’s 1996 recordings for its diatribe nature – this time going at Long Island’s De La Soul, as well as the usual suspects. Hip Hop has come a long way, and ‘Pac stays missed and loved.

R&B Stars such as Lloyd, Chris Brown and the “Queen” herself, Mary J. Blige, all appeared on songs this week. Given that with Drake and B.o.B.’s melodic tendencies, and the art of genre collaborations rang strong this past week. Support from Weezy, 3 Stacks, Fab and Jada can’t hurt either.
