Cuban Link has lashed out again at Joell Ortiz for recording the track “Big Pun’s Back,” also considered “disrespectful” by Pun’s widow Liza Rios. Speaking with WSHH, the Bronx, New York native explained that there are three reasons that the song wasn’t handled properly.

“Let’s depict the song. Let’s go back. I’ma hit you with the three strikes I’m talking about. First of all, duke said the new Christopher Lee Rios of rap. That you want to be the new Christopher Lee Rios. You already want to be like my man. You tryna say… You supposed to be giving love, but you want to be the new. You takin’ the spot or something. When I don’t even feel like you’re in the same realm as him. And I know a lot of people feel like that.”

He also noted Ortiz’s use of the word “heart attack” in his verse, claiming that it’s not only disrespectful to him, but to his family.

“Second strike, you gon’ say in your second verse, ’45 will hit you like a heart attack.’ For real? You’re going to use the word ‘heart attack’ on my brother’s song? You giving him love, but yet you gon’ put that word heart attack? He died of a heart attack. That’s very disrespectful to the family, if you don’t know. If you still confused.”

He concluded by explaining that bigging up Fat Joe was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

Third of all, you biggin’ up my enemy, you biggin’ up our enemy. For all these years, niggas already seen me go in on issues about the whole Terror Squad and Joe situation. And you used the little funny line where even though it was Pun’s like, you want to bring that line out of all the Pun lines that was ever said? ‘Don’t be like that other dude that was speakin’ dumb, tryna snuff Joe?’ When Pun was alive, he said that. I was there when he wrote that, so that was a whole different situation. But Pun’s not here no more. Twelve years later and you gon’ say that, and the new generation you speaking to is going to be like ‘Who’s the other dude that snuffed Joe?’ I know I snuffed Joe. Papoose snuffed Joe. So there’s only two dudes that you’re talking about.”
