There were rumors of Rick Ross possibly accompanying Manny Pacquiao during his pre-fight walk for the WBO Welterweight Championship Title Saturday night. And prior to the fight, Dr. Dre and Eminem used the Showtime series “Fight Camp 360” to preview the rumored Detox track “Die Hard.” But when it was time for both fighters to face off, only one emcee was front and center.
“Shane’s been a friend for years,” LL Cool J told his 1.2 million Twitter followers after performing “Mama Said Knock You Out” during Mosley’s pre-fight walk. The rumors of Ross accompanying Pacquiao never panned out, as LL’s 1990 multiplatinum single was the only Hip Hop heard in the moments leading up to the fight. Pacquiao opted for Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger” as his pre-fight music.
Mosley would eventually lose to Pacquiao in a 12-round, unanimous decision. In the third round, a Pacquiao left-hook floored Mosley, and the 39-year-old didn’t engage with Pacquiao much after hitting the canvas for only the third time in his 18-year boxing career.

After the fight, LL Cool J offered words of encouragement (and possibly some career advice) to Mosley—who he called a “good dude.” The childhood friends appeared at a star-studded celebrity afterparty at the Las Vegas Hard Rock Cafe, and Mosley was guaranteed to make no less than $5 million for the fight.
