DJ Premier is teaming back up with Christina Aguilera. Primo, who lent his production skills to the pop star’s 2006 album Back to Basics, is working with the Voice judge on her upcoming seventh LP, which serves as the follow-up to last year’s lukewarm Bionic.

“We are gonna work on her new LP…she’s ready to start,” he tweeted at a Christina Aguilera fan. “I haven’t made any tracks yet…we hung out a few days ago in NY and she’s just starting it.”

Mean Joe Preem previously worked on nine tracks for 2010’s Bionic, but none of the songs made the final cut as they didn’t fit with the futuristic aesthetic of the LP. On Back to Basics, he helmed five of the 13 tracks on the first disc, including album single “Ain’t No Other Man.”
