Although many rumors have been flying around since the death of Tupac several years ago, it seems as though he will finally get a chance to speak again on film. MTV Films in connection with AMARU Entertainment’s will be releasing a narrative film titled “Tupac: Resurrection” to the Sundance Festival on January 22nd.
The film that is directed by Lauren Lazin is compiled of earlier interviews that Tupac had recorded over several years of his life. The film will document Tupac as a child with his parents (Afeni Shakur who was a member of the well known Black Panther’s organization) up until his untimely death. During the film Tupac speaks on the fact that he always knew he would get shot and hoped that he would become an angel when he died. “What is so bad about that?”, Tupac asked the interviewer.
This film will also detail the first interview Tupac did during his 1995 prison term for sexual assault. This film also answers a big question many people in hip-hop have; how is Tupac still coming up with new songs? (They say Tupac sometimes recorded three songs a day). Tupac currently has a new double CD in the store titled “Better Dayz”. “Tupac: Resurrection” is scheduled to hit movie theatre’s nationwide later this year.
