After hoping for the best for the last six months of being in jail since he was arrested on a cruise ship, Slick Rick might have a bit of light shining at the end of the tunnel.

In a last minute effort to keep Slick Rick also known as Ricky Walters from being deported back to England, US District Court Judge of the Southern District of New York, Kimba Wood, decided to issue and emergency stay on the deportation plans. After being told that he would be deported back to England on December 28th, Judge Wood decided that Slick Rick should stay in the US until she has a chance to consider all the information surrounding his case. All though the main basis for Immigration and Naturalization Services case for deporting Slick Rick is the fact that he served 5 years and 12 days in jail, 12 of those days were spent because of INS working on his naturalization in the US.

Slick Rick’s wife Many left there home in New York to go prepare a new home in England for her husband. During the time Judge Wood will be reviewing his case, Slick Rick will remain in jail.
