In another attempt by the courts to censor rap music and blame the lyrics on senseless crimes, Bone Thugs In Harmony is now at the front of the court room, literally. During the sentencing of convicted killer Michael Tisius, prosecutors fought to have the song “Mo’ Murda” from Bone Thugs 1995 album “E. 1999 Eternal” into evidence as what provoked Mr. Tisius to kill two inmates. Although Mr. Tsisus was already convicted of committing a previous murder, prosecutors feel that the music helped “psyched” him up since he listened to the song repeatedly before he committed the second crime.
Bizzy Bone told MTV, “They can use it for whatever they’re going to use it for. Because it’s ultimately the Lord who’s got what’s in store for this man if he committed murder. If he drank a fifth of Jim Beam would it have been Jim Beam’s fault? I wrote that song after I watched the news, so how deep does the rabbit hole go? How far do you take the blame game? If you’re man enough to take another person’s life you should be man enough to be accountable for your own actions. What song will you listen to now to get you through this situation?”
