Did you ever think you would hear Nas on a Tupac track? Well not only will you be able to hear them on the remix version of “Thugz Mansion”, Tupac’s new song from his double cd “Better Dayz” but Nas appears in the music video as well.

At the video shoot in Atlanta, Nas told MTV that he was excited to be on the album even though he was a target of Tupac on many records. “That was something I’ve been waiting to do for a long time. It’s a tremendous honor because I put Tupac beyond Shakespeare. Unfortunately his early demise didn’t allow him to still be here and do more incredible things. The things he left are timeless. Just to be a part of that is an honor for me.”

As soon as I heard it, I was with it,” Nas continued during a break in shooting. “It was something I wanted to do with just a guitar playing, not really drums — something you could hear the words [on]. I was looking forward to doing something like that for my album, so when I heard Tupac doing it and the things he was saying, I was like, ‘Damn!’ It goes to show how he was one of the most incredible poets. It couldn’t have been a better song at a better time.” Although Tupac is no longer here to speak on what to do with his music, I hope Tupac’s legacy is being continued, as he would want it.
