Fans of Jason Mizell also known as Jam Master Jay will be able to continue on with his new music for awhile longer. Before Jam Master Jay died he was in the studio working on the “The Rusty Waters” album including his nephew Bob Skagz and a friend MDR.

The group Rusty Waters was the first act signed to Jam Master Jay’s label Hot ta Def and the first to be released nationally. The label has a distribution deal with Virgin Records who will release the album in March of 2003. The album was recorded in Jam Master Jay’s Queens, New York studio. Although police are still investigating who actually killed Jam Master Jay in his studio.

His family, as well as many artists in the entertainment industry, have publicly come out to deny news paper reports that Jam Master Jay’s death was connected to a drug deal gone bad. The allegations say that Jay and a friend put up several thousand dollars for a large shipment of drugs that never came through years ago. Allegedly someone felt he should pay the money back since they believe “he had it”. Jam Master Jay is being thought of as one of the best DJ’s in the game with a big heart to help all those around him.
