In a fitting tribute to an influential DJ in the hip-hop game, the Billboard Awards and VH-1 Big in 2002 Awards ceremonies, will be honoring the legacy of Run-DMC.
During the Billboard Awards ceremony P.Diddy, Nas, Nelly, Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, along with many others will put together a musical tribute to honor the life and legacy of Jason Mizell also known as Jam Master Jay and Run-DMC. Cedric the Entertainer will be hosting the live event which will be broadcasted live on December 9th from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on FOX.
On December 4th you can catch VH-1’s tribute to Run-DMC and Jam Master Jay featuring Grandmaster Flash, Chuck D and Kid Rock. Jam Master Jay’s was shot and killed on October 30th in his Queens, New York recording studio by a still as-yet unknown assailant. Police are still investigating several leads in Jam Master Jay’s case. Many people in the hip hop community have pitched in to offer a large reward in the solving of this case.
