Lil Wayne, Juvenile, and a number of other artists gathered at the Fifth African Baptist Church in New Orleans for the closed funeral service for rapper Renetta “Magnolia Shorty” Lowe who was killed on Monday, December 20.

“I think about how small she was, with a big voice,” rapper Juvenile explained to Nola.com, reports MTV’s RapFix. “And how brave she was, as a woman, going to some of the areas she went to and getting on the mic and making her songs.”

Family and friends of Lowe also gathered outside the church to say their goodbyes.

“R.I.P to my big sister Magnolia Shorty,” said Lil Wayne in a Tweet shortly after news spread of Lowe’s death.
